Even though this video has to use subtitles, you don’t need to know what he is saying to be amazed at how creative this street magician is in Japan. This is such a great example of creative use of technology. We did something similar with our voice simulator.

We used a live audience and Improv Professionals to create on the fly a simulated role-play. The audience was asked to give the improvisors ideas on what the role-play should be. The audience decided that the role-play should be trying to sell alligator shoes to nuns. Then they had 8 minutes to write what they nun would be saying to the other person in the role-play, record it and upload it into our voice simulation studio.

Then a volunteer from the audience called the simulator and tried to sell these shoes to the nun. Here is a audio recording of this role-play from the audience.

Selling Alligator Shoes to Nuns (You can try this yourself on our demo page)

I friend of mine, Adam Hartung, is a top online columnist for Forbes. In a recent post Sayonara Sony: How Industrial, MBA-Style Leadership Killed a Once Great Company over 97,000 people have read this post. In summary, Sony forgot how to be innovative and fell into making products for the sake of manufacturing products vs. being innovative and pioneering new markets like Apple is doing today.

Look at how many companies are falling into the same pattern. Most of this is due to pressures of not taking risks, watching the bottom line and “sticking to your core”.

I’d like to say that KnowledgeShift is not falling into this pattern. We are taking a risk ourselves when we realized our voice simulation tool had tremendous potential for use as a speech therapy tool in addition to helping improve professional conversations.

So you can see how we are branching out and creating new markets for Children and Adults who have Autism. Visit our Mobi-RolePlay Site to see how we are disrupting ourselves to support a growing market need for helping these people with improving their Social Conversations.

Adora Svitak is one to watch. In this TED video she lays it on the line why adults should take note of what they can learn from kids. She also states that traditional classroom training where the teacher lectures in the front of the room should be changed to letting the students teach each other. This is a philosophy I have encouraged in our “ADDIE to IMPROV” design model and it’s also a method that Steve Jobs recommended to President Obama which is stated in the top selling book “Jobs”. Watching this video is a good 8 minute investment.
